The artistic society founded was in 1893 in Brussels to continue the efforts of the artists the expand interest in their style. Van Rysselberghe (1862-1926) exerted a positive force for the revitalization of the decorative arts at the turn of the century. He created a few posters for La Libre Esthetique, ther are considered his finest. Estampe et Affiche spoke highly of the “impressionist painter [who] painted on an azure background, a charming young lady with red hair, whose languid arms and white neck spring from a large, violet dressing gown” There is a border around the image.
