School's Out

A cartoon of children exiting the school and doing a series of activities, from catch to somersaults. Some kids discuss grades and others just carry books home.include spinning on a swing, walking on stilts, tossing a pocket knife, and banging a fence with a stick. The cartoon was drawn by Clare Briggs for the book "Oh Skin-nay! The Days of Real Sport" in 1913. The book was written by poet Wilbur D. Nesbit and portrays a year in the life of small-town America through the eyes of the twelve-year-old boy - wood gathering, sleigh rides, games of post office, swimming holes, and sandlot ball games. - There is a border around the image.
